Bariatric surgery has been carried out in the Bon Secours Hospital Cork for over 9 years.

It is the busiest bariatric surgical unit in Ireland and Colm O’Boyle is one of the most experienced bariatric surgeon nationally. There is a dedicated team of nurses, physicians, dieticians, physiotherapists and psychologists. There is a full multidisciplinary approach and discussion of each patient’s case. All data are prospectively entered on to the IFSO-EC and the BOMMS databases. Outcomes compare very favorably with the best centers internationally.
